Welcome to Te Aka Tauwhiro, a meeting for anaesthesia trainees.
The New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists – Ngā Ringa Tauwhiro (NZSA) is delighted to invite all anaesthesia trainees to its inaugural trainee meeting, Te Aka Tauwhiro, to be held in Queenstown on 27–28 November.
This meeting will offer valuable learning relevant to all stages of training, with a programme that blends quality scientific content and essential human factors/non-technical skills, alongside relaxed social events that make the most of our stunning location and time together.

The Vine of Care/Healing. Referencing a vine and healing, ‘Te Aka Tauwhiro’ symbolises growth, learning, and interconnectedness, reflecting the meeting’s focus on education and connection.

Skills and knowledge
The meeting's programme will offer a mixture of essential non-clinical skills, scientific content and human factors relevant to training, anaesthesia and making the transition to SMO. With workshops catering to IT, BT, AT and PF stages of training.
Network and collaborate
All delegates are invited to the Friday night welcome reception at our meeting venue, Millennium Queenstown, and a fun, casual Saturday evening at Canyon Brewing on the Shotover River. Both functions are included in your registration.
